We provide fire risk assessments giving professional assistance, guidance and support to ensure employers or responsible persons create a fire safe premises and working environment. The document and guidance given meets your obligation to provide a ‘suitable and sufficient’ assessment under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
As prescribed in the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, 2005, a 'Competent Person' should carry out a Fire Risk Assessment for any premises except single private dwellings.
We do fire risk assessments on all premises; including Industrial, Commercial, Care Establishments, Licensed premises and common areas of flats.
Please note, fire safety consultancy is an unregulated industry. We ensure all our work is undertaken by experienced, highly professional fully insured fire safety consultants. All work is controlled and proofed by an Institute of Fire Engineers - Registered Fire Risk Assessor.
COMMON WAYS - Buying and selling property can be traumatic thus to prevent delay to exchange of contract or completion where documents are required for a flat sale, we provide an express service for flat common areas and Landlord services fire risk assessments, the completed full document forwarded as a PDF within 3 DAYS of inspection. We additionally work in partnership with fully insured Chartered Surveyors who provide asbestos surveys for sales of properties.
Where a building is erected or extended, or has undergone a material change of use, and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order applies to that building or extension, Regulation 38 of the Building Regulations requires that, a package of fire safety information - ‘as built’ information which records the fire safety design of the building or extension - must be assembled and given to the person responsible for the premises.
We provide plan inspections, advice and full fire strategy documents for all new built and converted buildings.
Our Risk Assessors include experienced ex - Fire & Rescue Service Fire Safety Officers, who provide comprehensive documents, detailed advice and recommendations specifically about your premises, activities, operations and fire safety management.
As members of the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) and Institute of Fire Prevention Officers (IFPO) our Assessors have attended appropriate training courses and hold relevant qualifications to carry out fire risk assessments.

We undertake fire risk assessment and fire safety consultations throughout the South East, London & Home Counties
A fire risk assessment involves a physical inspection of the premises both internal and external to determine the adequacy of the existing fire precautions and the need for any additional measures. Of equal importance to the physical inspection is important factor regarding scrutiny of fire safety management in the organisation and consideration of the human factors – nature of operations, competency and how people will respond to an emergency and whether they will take appropriate action.
There are practical limits to the extent of the inspection and evaluation of fire prevention and precautions.
In undertaking a fire risk assessment, we do not carry out detailed fire engineering evaluation or testing of fire protection systems, emergency escape lighting, or any other passive or active fire safety provisions incorporated in the premises.
However, we do inspect such systems visually including all supporting commissioning documentation. Where appropriate, we would identify the need for any further fire engineering evaluation, which could be able to carry out if required.
The inspection of the construction of the building would extend to readily accessible areas of the building. We do not normally undertake destructive or intrusive exposure unless a compartmentation survey is required. We inspect above false ceilings, in voids or other isolated spaces where possible, normally on a sampling basis only, unless evidence requires a more intensive investigation due to observed shortfalls.
